I am trying to find out whether SME supports inbound SFTP connections/file transfer. I found information on setting up the CloudFTP features (at https://storagemadeeasy.com/wiki/cloudftp/ ), and was able to successfully set this up. Unfortunately, it appears to only support FTP and FTPS, but not SFTP.

Likewise, I found the FTP/FTPS/SFTP provider, but that appears to be outbound only (i.e. you can sync with an external SFTP host; doesn't provide an SFTP host at SME).

I'm looking for a solution that will allow an offsite server to initiate a nightly connection via SFTP (unfortunately, it HAS to be SFTP -- I have no control over the protocol that will be used) and upload a small file. I want the uploaded file to ultimately end up in a Google Cloud Storage bucket.

I found mention of SFTP support in a forum post from 2013, and a moderator indicated that SFTP support was forthcoming; however, I'm not sure of the current status of those efforts (and I'm not clear on whether the SFTP upload support is included in those plans).

Is the outlined use case above supported by SME (by itself or in conjunction with another service)?

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

Yes, sftp is supported as an access gateway protocol to cloud storage, please see:

for more information on this.
