With simple PUT uploads using Python bota I get 'ETag from S3 did not match computed MD5'

With multipart uploads I get: 401 Authorization errors

Does this service work with the S3 api and Amazon's SDK's?

Thanks.

SME S3 doesn't compute MD5 on upload.
What S3 client do you use?

SME S3 doesn't support multipart upload.

I am using the Python SDK from Amazon (boto).

I assume you are trying to use SME as an api interface to your account and other clouds mapped to it ie. Not as a simple connector to S3 which we enable from a connector within your account.

I assume you followed the documentation and used the correct API endpoint. See:

http://storagemadeeasy.com/wiki/s3compatibleapi/

And also see the notes section which outlines which S3 API's are supported.

Yes we are trying to use your service to access other cloud storage sites using the S3 api as well as storage on your site.  We are developing software to replicate data from our backup NAS appliances to various cloud storage services.  S3 is one we have implemented already and when I saw your service I thought it might be perfect for us to recommend to our customers.

OK, you would need to use our on-premise service and host yourself to enable this as we don't allow this type of Commerical API interaction on our hosted SaaS service.

We have other ISp's doing exactly this using our service and the S3 interface but as Ivor pointed our MS5 is not supported nor multi-part upload (due to abstracted back end clouds not supporting this) but you can programmatically upload without this.

I'm not sure I understand.  Our customer would buy a backup appliance from us and sign up for an account with you (whatever level they want) and the backup appliance would then be setup to replicate data to your service.

We provide two products. Our SaaS service which is for business users who want a hosted cloud file server and our Enterprise / OEM product. The latter can be deployed by you on site as a storage agnostic backup gateway for multiple customers using the S3 protocol (your described scenario), or by the customer themselves . Deployment options are:

- you host it
- host it on IaaS infrastructure
- your customer hosts it
- we host it as a dedicated service for you

Note that SME now supports MD5 and multi-part upload will be supported but only in the on-site enterprise appliance.
