Problem with password encrypted zipfiles on Gmail
Thank you very much!!!! We finally sorted everything out! The problem was due to an unknown issue on my Gmail account, all we had to do was to create a new one and associate it within SMEStorage.

How much headache for such a simple problem...

Anyway, thanks a lot again for this superb customer service, you can really feel that there's somebody who cares!

Just did it! 2 jpg, 1 doc and 1 htm file. They upped perfectly and appeared in Gmail but again at point 10. no files in SyncCenter... :-(

Ok, did EXACTLY what you wrote in your last post again.
Main differences are:
Gmail: the "even Mail that has been downloaded" radio button doesn't remain selected after saving settings, but that should be no problem as for this test now, the files still to be uploaded will never have been downloaded before.

SynCentre:
4. before I always used SyncUp, but now for this test I used SyncAll as suggested
10. here's the problem! I do not see the directory structure after having done 8. and 9.
11. and therefor 11. is not working...

maybe it's a problem with my personal account on your server?

Problem with password encrypted zipfiles on Gmail
As you maybe already have seen, I've been able to change my Gmail account on your Website. I tried again with this new one and again the same result :-(

SyncCenter after restarting it, just shows the name of the SyncFolder and starts "executing" something, but in opposite to fase 1 (before SyncingUp) it doesn't populate this folder, therefor SyncDown doesn't work. I tried to Refresh and SyncAll too but again nothing happens.

I retried again AFTER saving the settings but always the same result. I wanted to try with another Gmail account but don't see where I can change it under My Account on your Website

POP and IMAP were enabled but the radio button for "even Mail that has been downloaded" wasn't selected.
I selected it, saved my settings and started over but with the same results.

After that I checked again into my Gmail settings and the radio button was again deselected. I tried to select and save again for some times but it never remained selected. Is this normal? I'm gonna check now with a different Gmail account.

Problem with password encrypted zipfiles on Gmail
Even after a full delete of my files on Gmail nothing changed. The SyncDown button seems to be without any function (apart from the creation of the empty main folder on my HD)

Sorry for answering late, I just tried your Debug version but no error message popped up. It worked (or better didn't work) exactly the same like in my last post :-(

I will delete now everything old from my GSpace and try it again, maybe that's the problem that SyncCenter can't differentiate between new and old files...

Problem with password encrypted zipfiles on Gmail
Hi, when I tried it yesterday the sync'd files showed up in SyncCenter and after clicking on SyncDown the folder structure has been created on my HD but with no files in it. This morning instead there appeared no files at all in SyncCenter.

Therefor right now I started all over:
1. I copied my to be sync'd folder to my original HD location
2. I clicked on SyncUP
3. I deleted my folder on the HD
4. I restarted my PC
5. I opened SyncCenter
6. No files appeared in SynCenter
7. Immediately the main folder on my HD has been created without me doing nothing
8. I clicked on SyncDown but nothing happened
9. No new subfolders have been added to the main folder and of course no files

Hope this helps

Don't know exactly what you mean with the MySyncs folder, anyway to be clear, I did not use any part of the SME program to delete the folder I did it manually directly from the HD. Practically I emulated a total data loss, so as if my PC had been stolen or if my HD had a crash and I had to get my data back onto a new PC.

Problem with password encrypted zipfiles on Gmail
Hi, what a great service, thanks a lot! Uploading works perfectly fine now!
Unfortunately I encountered another problem :-(
As the main reason of having a backup online is to retrieve the data while you lost it on your PC, I deleted the sync'd folder and tried to retrieve the data back again. The result is that SyncCenter doesn't do anything while SMEExplorer at least creates the folder structure on my HD but doesn't download any files.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Problem with password encrypted zipfiles on Gmail
Yes, that's the solution!! ;-) And by doublechecking I noticed that this is exactly the way Gspace does it too...
They rename the file into .zip_gs, the same as they do with exe files (.exe_gs)
The _gs doesn't show up in the Subject line of the message but if you open it you'll see the renamed attachment

I guess I found the problem: when I tried to email myself the file from one Gmail account to another it worked fine. After your mail I tried to email the same file from a different provider and it did not come through.
Then I checked the files transmitted through Gspace and saw that they all appear to come from my own Gmail account.
I don't know if it's very difficult, but if not I would suggest that you implement Gmail as SMTP in your SyncCenter in case somebody wants to use his Gmail space.

Ok, in this case, yes, I tested earlier today and again right now. It still doesn't send the files to Gmail. Should I email you a sample file?

I tried using it but as I wrote you the link you posted in one of your first replies is still the same. The Setup file is still dated 31/12/2008
